The Stainless Top

Stainless steel appliances are so popular right now despite being easily scratched and hard to keep clean. We have a current love/hate thing with them. Nevertheless, we are forging ahead with it. How can we live in a metal box and not use some stainless? So, here's the before and after installation of the island countertop, in (yep) stainless.

We decided on one stainless steel countertop and one butcher block countertop (coming soon). Come on, we had to put in utilitarian tops! I love that they don't match. So it's institutional, functional, affordable, and it will scratch, but there is something to like about that. Using a metal top also has its' advantages since you can do an integrated sink, like this, so it all is one piece. Like.

By the way, there are two types of people out there: single bowl people and double bowl people. You know where we stand.
