Death by Porcelain Bowl

I keep checking the blog to see if it has updated itself yet. These last few days have consisted of late nights for Tyler at the house (midnight last night) and lots of errands for me. You start seeing the world differently with a car load full of toilets. You wonder if you were in a car accident and one of the toilets flew forward with enough force to kill you, would that be mentioned in the obituary? "Death by porcelain bowl." Also, would they mention the embarrassing music and books on cd in your car? These things force you to drive with extra caution.

There have been two kinds of work occurring this week; what we are doing ourselves and work that subcontractors have completed. Our driveway has been officially poured, and curing is in process. Looking good!


Can you see the subtle "wave" finish going down? This is some high end work by Earth x Design. They had a vision and boy, did it turn out nice. A future video must be made of the first drive in the garage. (and FYI, plants/greenery will eventually be added. No rush.)


The garage door has also been installed. I have a feeling I'll be painting this dark gray over the weekend. (The door is not a design feature, just a garage door, intended to blend in.)


This week our second shift (the house project being our second job) has consisted of more tiling. Here's Ty ready to start second shift. What an optimist! This was yesterday. He had an amazing amount of energy. Who else would be excited to start tiling at 8 PM on a school night?


Tyler worked hard to get the floor of the master bath installed last night. Check it out, one tile short.
