The Sale & The Future

Long neglected viewers, we have an update!

After two days on the market and one showing, we received a full price offer on HH. Huzzah! How wonderful, indeed! We no longer live in or own this lovely, bold house that was such a huge part of our life for the last three years. There are so many mixed emotions on this experience. We've learned so much! It was hard to sell, but the project is over for us. It's time to move on to new opportunities in a new city, specifically an interior architecture graduate school program for Lisa. (We will be amateurs no more!) Inevitably a new Hartanov House project will be in the works. Until then, look out for an article about our HH experience in Spokane Coeur d'Alene Living Magazine due out September or go visit us at the SPOMA exhibit at the MAC through September. Thanks to all the HH readers for their support these last 3 years! Be bold!

Guest Room / Mad Scientist Room

The Deck

We have a deck. 

We also have stairs.

 Well, we have stairs with one piece missing.

It's no big deal, 

just 400 square feet of amazing extra space.

There's even a garden. 

This is property access,

finally. 

It feels so good.

The Snorkel Says, "Hello"

Folks, like an uninvited guest, the snorkel lift made an invasive entrance on the property this past weekend, specifically into my living room while I was trying to enjoy a good book. Sure, it seems exciting, but not when you see how close that thing is to my railing and what it's doing to my lawn.  

Of course bringing the snorkel lift to the property means even Mumsy wants to go up for a ride. (You HAVE to get your money's worth on rentals.) Let's be done with lifts and backhoes and tractors and mini excavators and large equipment of all kinds on the property.

It's about time. We are in the home stretch. Let's get these last few projects wrapped up.

The Deck Installation

Let's build a deck. 

The sunbeams approve.

Whoa, I said deck, not stairs. Stairs are next week.

Oh my dearie. Let's get this over with.

The Lower Level Bathroom Vanity

Secret project!

Folks, there was some leftover wood from that mahogany laundry cabinet. We used it to make a vanity for the lower level bathroom.

Remember? This is the bathroom that has the cool vertical metallic tile. Lots of adjectives needed to describe this. I recommend, "textured". 

The vanity has been a secret. Well not really. I just never mentioned it on the blog until now, so it's new to you. Surprise! This way you didn't have to go through the process of me introducing the project, starting it a month later, and letting it sit in the garage for 2 months before installing it. You are most welcome!

 

Installation WAS a nightmare since the sink and plumbing were installed long ago. Tyler prevailed. See? Big cubby. Big drawer. Done.

I'm just a sucker for that grain. So sparkly glowy. (Technical term.)
