The General Contractor

One way Tyler and I hope to save money on this project is to be our own general contractor. Tyler says he's watched enough HGTV to know what he's doing, and he also has a willingness to learn the new stuff. (Remember Ty, when I just had to have a white concrete countertop?)

We have yet to experience new construction, just those pesky remodels. Tyler’s dad, Tom Hartanov, an actual GC, has stepped in (willingly) and has been guiding us along in the beginning stages of this project. (We don’t need to price out every detail, do we? Turns out we do.) He’s been helping us with our budget, our scheduling, and frankly I’m concerned he’s using up every favor he’s got in the industry for us. He has been critical for us to start on the right foot. WE OWE YOU TOM.
