Are Fake Plants EVER Okay?

I'm a big fan of this bathroom I found on the interweb. It's full of fancy features and materials.  

Sure, the sink is cute and blah, blah, blah, but what really catches my eye is that giant leaf. It's so bright and friendly! I'd love to see that everyday.  

If I want to recreate this, I'd need a fresh supply of tropical leaves (so rare in these parts). The reality of me doing this is insane. So, what's the alternative? A fake version? I'm instantly hesitant. I don't know. Are fake plants EVER okay?
