The Master Bedroom Closet Installation

We've been out daydreaming the last few weeks. It felt good, right? Reality is much messier.  

Back at Hartanov House where we do things out of sequence, we started installing the master bedroom closet this week. It involved bringing in 8 foot tall boxes through the house while trying to narrowly avoid the walls and ceilings and basically not cause damage.   

Really, I need to back up a bit. We shifted our closet design around for cost savings and then hired our new cabinet extraordinaire, Chris Galows, to make it. (So sure, we could have attempted to make it, but cabinetry requires some special tools that we don't have access to. Better to leave it to the professionals.) So this required us to move our current closet to the unfinished basement, disaster shown below.

So, now anytime we need clothes it requires a flight of stairs and the fear that a spider took residence in your trousers. Yes, I said trousers. These are the pains of progress.  

So, back to the closet. We decided on more of a cabinet closet, where there are 6 cabinet doors instead of sliding doors or something like that. It will look real clean and uniform.

At this point, the boxes are in the space, which is an accomplishment in itself. The doors are painted and ready for installation. Shelves and rods are on their way. A functioning closet is in our near future (and possibly a garage sale?). I'm really excited to share our design with you, next post.
