All of the Noxious Weed Names Sounds Like They're from Harry Potter

So we have this thick grassy stuff growing fiercely on the perimeter of our yard. We did a little research online to try and identify it, and concluded that it must be a noxious weed. So, like any concerned parent, we called the county's noxious weed control board and arranged a visit. Once he arrived on the property, tensions ran high. Like a hypochondriac at a dr.'s appointment, we waited anxiously for the assessor's diagnosis. Would it be Leafy Spurge or Hoary Cress? Maybe Dalmatian Toadflax? Yipe!

He let us know that our concerned grass was nothing to be concerned about, "but you do have poison ivy growing right over there."

Really it's just a SMALL patch growing in the middle of the rocks in the drainage area. It's hardly anything to be concerned about, right?

To help us identify our common enemies in the future, he gave us this brochure of all of the noxious weeds in the area. It's like Spokane County's own Most Wanted List - complete with mug shots, aliases, and last known whereabouts. As a result, I've been reading up and identifying weeds whenever we leave the house, hoping to one day receive my merit badge in Spokane County Noxious Weed Identification (or at least know what I'm talking about next time).
