Temporary Solutions to Chaos

With the start of a new year, it's time to refresh. Where are we at? At this point, all of our efforts on the house are directed at two goals. The first is to get our Certificate of Occupancy (CO), which closes the permit process, proves our house met code, and officially makes our house a residence. The second goal is to establish our home loan, which transfers our loan from a construction loan to a traditional mortgage. With each of these goals, inspections and appraisals are needed. All of our efforts for the past few months have been directed on what needs to be completed for these walk throughs to occur. This is also why a lot of less important things have been left unfinished, which also explains why nothing is finished and why we are in a constant state of disarray. (Hurray!)

In order to combat the chaos, we have many makeshift temporary solutions, like these stunning garbage bag curtains.

So we have a few good months of pressing work ahead of us before we can slow down and enjoy the house. (What a dream!) Things to look out for over the new few weeks: railing installation, new cabinetry, and some killer bathroom sinks.

  1. If you used magnets instead of painters tape you would keep more light out!

  2. Anonymous you are right, but don't you think the painters tape really compliments the garbage bags?
